In short

The chats, screenshots and links you check are analysed on your phone and never sent to us. No account. The app does not read your messages, SMS, calls or contacts: it only sees what you choose to paste or share into it.

On your phone only

• Messages you analyse and the history of analyses (you can turn the history off or delete it).
• Screenshots you choose are read on the phone (Google ML Kit on-device text recognition, bundled with the app).
• Checklist ticks, quiz progress, settings. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.

What goes to our server (kodalab.pt), and only when you ask

• Online link check (button «Check links online»): the link address is sent to our server, which asks Google Web Risk whether it is known to be dangerous and asks the public domain registry (RDAP) how old the domain is. We do not store the link; we keep only a daily count of checks. Google receives the link from our server, not from your phone.
• Anonymous scam reports: only what you confirm on the report screen — country, platform, type of scam, the scammer's profile, number or link, and a short excerpt you reviewed (the app removes e-mails, card numbers and IBANs and asks you to remove names). We do not store your number, IP address, device identifier or exact time (only the day). Reports are kept for 13 months and used to improve detection. This service is shared with our app Lince.
• Our server uses your IP address only in memory to limit abuse; it is not written to disk or logs.

Advertising

The app is free, with no purchases, and shows Google AdMob ads: a banner in its own strip at the bottom of every screen (it never covers content), occasionally a full-screen ad at a natural break (after a quiz round, when leaving a calm result, a guide or the history) — never in the middle of a check and never right after a scam warning — and, only if you choose, an ad to unlock the detailed report image or the expert quiz pack for the day. When consent allows it, AdMob may collect the advertising ID, approximate location from the IP address, device information and ad interactions. In the EEA and the UK you are asked first with Google's consent form; you can change your choice in Settings. Ads never see the messages you check. Results are indicative

Lince Market gives an indicative assessment based on known warning signs. It can be wrong and does not replace the platform, your bank or the authorities. Lince Market is not affiliated with OLX, Vinted, Facebook, Wallapop, Leboncoin, Subito, Kleinanzeigen, Gumtree, eBay or any other platform; their names are used only to describe them.

Your rights

We hold no account or profile about you, and reports cannot be linked to you. To delete everything on your phone use Settings → «Delete all data», or uninstall the app. Questions: web@kodalab.pt. You may complain to your data protection authority (in Portugal, CNPD).
