KODALAB Family — Privacy Policy

What stays on your device
The app contains five games (Who Was It?, Sketch Relay, Living Room Quest, Forbidden Word and The Family Plan), played on one phone passed between the players. Player names, saved player setups, the unfinished match, the last game played, family records and statistics, the settings, the language and the bonus-pack timer are stored on the device only. Drawings from Sketch Relay are kept as strokes on the device. «Save drawing» opens the Android file picker and writes a PNG only where you choose. There are no accounts and nothing of this is sent to us or to anyone else. «Clear local data» in the settings deletes it, and so does uninstalling the app.
What leaves your device
Kodalab receives no data from this app unless you open an online room. Apart from that, the only network traffic is the advertising described below.
Online rooms (optional)
If you create or join an online room («Quem Foi?» online), your phone connects to our server at kodalab.pt. The server receives a random identifier created on your phone (it keeps only a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of it), the name you type for the room, and your votes. Rooms live only in the server's memory and are deleted when everyone leaves or after a few hours; nothing is logged with your IP address and there are no accounts.
Without an internet connection the games work normally and shows no ads.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner at the bottom of the screen, an occasional interstitial between finished matches (never during one), and a rewarded ad only when you tap one of the optional buttons that offer it: the 24-hour bonus pack for the five games, one extra drawing idea in Chain Drawing, or one extra mission in Living-Room Mission. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect the Android advertising id, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived), device and app information, and interactions with the ads; it is sent encrypted. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form is shown before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice later in Settings → «Ad privacy choices». You can reset or delete the advertising id in Android settings. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
Notifications
After your first completed match the app may ask whether you want a weekly game-night reminder. It is optional, created on the device, and can be turned off in Android settings at any time.
Sharing
«Share result» opens the Android share menu with a short text; nothing is sent unless you pick an app to share it with.
Ratings
After a finished match the app may show Google Play's own rating dialog. It is handled entirely by Google Play; the app does not see whether or how you rated it.
Purchases
There are no purchases in this app.
Children
The app is intended for ages 13 and up, to play with family or friends. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Your rights
All game data is on your device and you can delete it yourself as described above. For questions about advertising data, contact Google through the link above or write to us.
